Sliding Scale FAQ
What is a sliding scale?
A sliding scale is a reduced session fee based on financial need. We offer a limited number of sliding scale spots to help make therapy more accessible for individuals who may not be using insurance or who are experiencing financial hardship.
How does the sliding scale work?
Your rate is determined collaboratively based on factors such as income, financial responsibilities, and current circumstances.
Who qualifies for sliding scale sessions?
Sliding scale spots may be available for clients who:
-
Are uninsured
-
Have high deductibles or limited mental health coverage
-
Are experiencing financial hardship
-
Are students, part-time workers, or in transitional life circumstances
Are sliding scale spots always available?
Sliding scale availability is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis. If no reduced-fee openings are available, we’re happy to discuss alternative options when possible.
Will my sliding scale rate stay the same?
Sliding scale rates may be reviewed periodically to ensure they continue to reflect your current financial situation and the sustainability of care.
Can I use insurance and sliding scale together?
Sliding scale rates are reserved for private-pay sessions and cannot be combined with insurance billing. If you plan to use insurance, we can help verify your benefits and discuss expected costs before starting therapy.
